Re-Domicilation explained

BVI

Hong Kong’s re‑domiciliation regime allows a British Virgin Islands (BVI) company to transfer its place of incorporation to Hong Kong without winding up or creating a new entity. The company continues as the same legal entity, preserving its corporate history, assets, contracts, liabilities and ongoing operations, but is thereafter governed by Hong Kong law.

This provides BVI companies with a streamlined and cost‑effective way to align their corporate domicile with Hong Kong’s legal, regulatory and commercial environment.
